Terms of service
Last updated October 22, 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Cardigan, who runs Cardigan. By creating an account, you agree to them.
What Cardigan is
Cardigan helps you keep track of your household’s credit cards: perks and credits, welcome bonuses, annual fees, points and when you can earn a bonus again. During the beta, it’s free.
Information, not advice
Cardigan gives you information, not financial advice, and doesn’t recommend cards. Dates and amounts are worked out from our card catalogue and from what you enter. The catalogue is researched from the issuers’ own pages, but card terms change and we can make mistakes: check with your card issuer or loyalty program before you act on anything, especially before you apply for a card or cancel one.
Reminders
We send reminders the way you choose, but email and push notifications can be late, filtered or lost, and a reminder can be wrong if the information behind it is. Reminders help you remember; they don’t replace checking your accounts.
Your account
You must be 18 or older, and live in Canada outside Quebec while the French version is in preparation. Keep access to your email (or Google account) secure: it’s how you sign in. Enter information about other people in your household only if they agree to it.
Acceptable use
Don’t enter card numbers or passwords. Don’t try to get into other households’ information, disrupt the service, or copy the catalogue in bulk.
Your information
What you enter is yours. You can download it or delete it at any time in Settings. Our privacy policy explains how we handle it.
Changes to the service
The beta will change as we improve it. If we ever close the service, we’ll tell you at least 30 days ahead, so you can download your information.
Ending
You can delete your account at any time. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, after telling its owner why, unless the law or safety requires us to act at once.
Our responsibility
To the extent the law allows, Cardigan isn’t responsible for a missed bonus, credit or deadline, a fee charged, points lost, or any other loss that comes from relying on Cardigan. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your province or territory.
Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of the province or territory where you live, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
Changes to these terms
If we change these terms in a way that matters, we’ll tell you in the app or by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account before then.
